A Letter from Remi

Remi is one of the graduates of Hope Children’s Home and he is a shining example of a young man who has overcome adversity in life and yet is kindhearted, generous and a hard worker.  We received this letter from him yesterday and we would like to share it with all of you.

Remi has aged out of care at Hope Childrens Home but Fred and Alice have seen he is great with people and have offered him a job as the orphanage manager. He hopes to go to trade school to learn catering.

Dear Light Up Hope,

I salute you in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ and I hope that you are fine wherever you are.  This has been a great opportunity that I have been granted to write to you something that I solely appreciate.  I am Remjeus, a high school post graduate and now I am currently in college pursuing my career.  Currently I am a student at Kitale College of Hospitality and Business Management.

I have been in the Hope Children’s Home throughout my high school, all the way from Nairobi to Kitale.  This has been a miracle to us as the Hope Children’s home family since it has been a a great relief and blessing to us.  We, the Hope family, we sometimes lack words to say when it comes to appreciating your efforts and support towards this home but the only thing we can say is thank you very much even though this is not enough and we always pray for you that may God bless you abundantly and watch over you, bless the work of your hands.

It is still very clear in my mind the challenges that we faced while in Nairobi and when I remember all this I usually thank God for working miraculously because we have enough space and enough land which we use for so many purposes including a homestead and a farm where we plant our food like vegetables and maize that we also use to sustain the home.  The land also has enough fishponds that provide fish for consumption to boost our diets.

Your support has really made some people who had no hope in life, to regain their hope and a bright future. Those who never thought that they will ever learn like other people in the society, they have got the opportunity to learn through your support.  Through this, you have made us Kings and Queens, you have made us something from nothing.

I thank God for making you our angels, you have really contributed to our welfare and well being by providing the basic needs such that we have new rooms that we use as shelter.  We appreciate your support sincerely and my prayer is that may God bless you, make you live long, give you security and peace in whatever thing you do as we promise that we will not let you down.  God bless you.

Yours friendly,

Remjeus
