Sponsor the urban Nairobi slum community – KWA NJENGA
Kwa Njenga is one of the worst slums in Nairobi, Kenya. Many children are full or partial orphans, living with either a single parent or a guardian like a grandmother. Most children in our Kwa Njenga program live in a one room house made from metal sheeting. The slum is overcrowded and children have little space to play and the community is littered with trash heaps. Open sewage runs down most streets and alleyways creating multiple health hazards such as typhoid and cholera. The major challenge facing parents in this community is unemployment and criminal activity. The parents and guardians of the children in our program struggle to provide one meal each day and school fees for the children, and medical care is mostly unattainable.
Your monthly sponsorship of $35 or more per month will help provide food assistance, school fees, books, a school uniform, access to medical care and mentorship programs for the parents and guardians.
