On September 7, 2013, 190 guests attended Light Up Hope’s annual fundraiser, Barn Fire, hosted at Discovery Church. The event included a silent auction, dinner and dessert. Kenyan partners, Fred and Alice Afwai, were the keynote speakers as they shared about the heartbreaking situations that cause children to become orphans in Kenya as well as the hope for their future cultivated by the loving care and encouragement they receive at Hope Children’s Home which is supported by Light Up Hope. The event was a huge success and raised over $35,000. This money will allow Light Up Hope to fulfill our next priority of bringing electricity to Hope Children’s Home. It also provides the funds needed to pay the high school fees for the eight children who will be heading off to secondary school in January, and places Light Up Hope in a strong position to continue to invest in developing new programs to meet the needs of raising the children we love.
None of this would be possible without our generous supporters! THANK YOU deeply!
