Kelly Little – Founder and President
Kelly has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Colorado. Kelly has experience starting and running several small businesses and has been involved with orphan care since first visiting Kenya in 2009, through adoption of her daughter from an orphanage in Ethiopia in 2011 and through her many trips to Kenya as Founder of Light Up Hope. Kelly is also a student of Kiswahili and lover of the beautiful and diverse culture of Kenya.
Augustine Wanyama – Director of Kenya Operations
Augustine brings to Light Up Hope a background in leadership, teaching and mentorship having worked as the principal of a primary school in a slum area of Nairobi. His time as a principal gave him the compassion for the potential of every child, regardless of their background, as well as 14 years experience working cross culturally with the many international partners who would visit the school. Augustine’s skills with mentoring young adults, as well as his outstanding work ethic, impressed the Light Up Hope founders and board of advisors, and he was invited to join the Light Up Hope team in fall 2016. Additionally he is the pastor of Hope Discovery International Church in Nairobi.
Diana Mays – Chief Operating Officer
Diana has a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing from Bowling Green State University. Diana has over 18 years of experience planning events and leading fundraising efforts for non-profit organizations. She joined Light Up Hope in 2013 and since 2015 she has taken multiple trips to Kenya to see first hand all the amazing work that has been happening.
Additionally Light Up Hope would not be possible without the loving support and hard work of our team volunteer project managers who donate their time and skills every week to making Light Up Hope a success.

Discovery , A Christian Church. Discovery Church has partnered with Light Up Hope since its inception in 2011. In the beginning Light Up Hope was a nonprofit global orphan initiative of Discovery, a Christian Church, until 2017 when Light Up Hope became its own separate 501c3 charitable organization. Discovery provides encouragement and financial support through community awareness and monthly general and administrative donations.

Renae Loring – Chair of the Board and board member since 2011. Renae is the Pastor of Global Missions and Leadership Development at Discovery Christian Church and mother of 3 children. Her BA is in English from the University of Northern Colorado. She also has a certificate of Spiritual Direction from Denver Seminary. Renae has been on the board since it’s inception and loves the opportunity to watch the long term impact of Light Up Hope.
Olin Hoover – Treasurer of the Board and board member since 2018. Olin is a Senior professional with broad management experience. After completing graduate work and an M.B.A., I spent nearly 4 decades in domestic and international leadership roles at three multi-national companies. After retiring from corporate life, my wife and I moved to the Denver area where we have become involved with Light Up Hope. I’ve been married to my amazing wife, Eileen for 41 years. We have one son, a terrific daughter-in-law and two wonderful granddaughters!
I believe that education is critical for growth in any country, but especially in developing countries. Light Up Hope is important because this organization helps to provide access to education.
Irene Macharia, board members since 2015. Irene is an Internal Medicine physician who works for a major HMO in Colorado and a mother of 2 children. Irene is proud to call Kenya her home and feels blessed and honored to work with this organization that has been a major blessing to so many children in her home country.
Nathaniel Moller, board member since 2018. Nathaniel has a passion for serving women and children around the world, which has grown as he’s become the father of three beautiful girls. He loves that Light Up Hope’s efforts focus on the most vulnerable children in Kenya, bringing Jesus’ love to the kids that society often forgets. Professionally, Nathaniel works for Jhpiego where he works to increase access to high-quality healthcare for women and families across Africa and Asia. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University and an MSE in Bioengineering from Johns Hopkins University.
Jenny Gray, board member since 2018. Jenny is a Hospitalist/ Internal Medicine Physician, currently working at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, CO. She completed her BA and MD in Texas and moved to Colorado for Residency training. She is married to Norm and considers her most important job to be that of Mom to three wonderful children. Jenny has a heart for missions and other cultures and is excited to further the mission of Light Up Hope.
